This index exists because the four kinds of hotel gathered here are usually written about in four separate registers: art hotels as galleries, capsule hotels as curiosities, casino hotels as venues, ice hotels as stunts. All four are, first, hotels. We describe them that way.
Entries are written from what a property consistently is rather than from what it promises on a given night. There are no ratings here, no reviews, and no way to book — when a hotel interests you, go to the hotel.
