About

Casino Resort Nasio is an independent editorial index of hotels, organised into four categories: art hotels, capsule hotels, casino hotels and ice hotels. It is a reading resource, not a booking service.

What we cover

The four categories were chosen because each one changes the basic proposition of a hotel in a different direction. An art hotel puts a collection or a commission at the centre of the building. A capsule hotel strips the room down to a berth and moves everything else into shared space. A casino hotel is a large full-service property that includes a gaming floor among its departments. An ice hotel is rebuilt from scratch every winter and gone by spring.

How entries are written

Every entry describes the property as a building and as a place to sleep: where it stands, what it was before, how the rooms are arranged, what the stay is actually like. We stick to characteristics that hold from season to season rather than to details that change with a rate sheet or a menu.

We do not publish star ratings, we do not publish guest reviews, and we do not rank properties against one another. Order within a category carries no judgement.

Independence

No hotel pays to appear here and no entry is written in exchange for a stay, a commission or a referral fee. There is no booking engine on this site and no affiliate link in any entry. If that ever changes, it will be stated plainly on this page before anything else changes.

Geography

The index is not tied to one country or region. Properties are included because they are clear examples of their category, wherever they happen to stand.
